The Eden Prairie School Board is scheduled to meet for a regular business meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Administrative Services Center, 8100 School Road.
Items on the agenda include monitoring the "Life Skills" policy, as well as information on the district's Aspen Contract and facilities options.

Two Hopkins Nordic skiers to compete in National Junior Olympics
The Foundation for Eden Prairie Schools recently awarded the following grants:
* $10,128.84 to Katy Anderson at Cedar Ridge Elementary to “provide six classes of fourth-grade students with an engaging, science/technology related, experience with LEGO Robotics equipment.”
* $6,105.60 to Kristin Gabel at Eden Prairie High School to “provide approximately 160 high school students (AP biology and enriched biology) with a polymerase chain reaction machine. This machine is found in colleges, research laboratories and criminal investigation labs.”

The fifth annual Eden Prairie School District Science Fair was Saturday at the High School.

The Eden Prairie School District signed on this month to be part of the state’s application for Race to the Top funds.
A news release from the Minnesota Department of Education said that the 1,000 page application to be part of the Race to the Top program was submitted. In Minnesota, “300 school districts and 116 charter schools, representing over 93 percent of the students in the state” signed memoranda of agreement. The state’s grant request was for $330 million.
The Eden Prairie School Board is scheduled to meet from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Administrative Services Center.

The Eden Prairie Council for the Gifted and Talented sponsored its annual Family Science Night on Saturday, with entertainment at Eden Prairie High School by Laura and Colin from Mad Science.
