Members of the Tree Trust’s Youth Conservation Corps are spending the summer constructing a timber edger at the Richard T. Anderson Nature Preserve in Eden Prairie.
“Tree Trust is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to improving the community environment by investing in people,” according to a news release. “Founded in 1976 to help reforest the cities in the wake of Dutch elm disease, Tree Trust has served more than 28,000 youth and 7,000 adults through its employment training programs. Program participants have completed thousands of park improvement and other service projects in the Twin Cities area.”
Tree Trust’s Youth Conservation Corps has more than 360 14- to 21-year-old youth working throughout the Twin Cities. They participate in a nine-week summer program and learn about basic job skills and money management.
To observe the corps’ progress, visit 18700 Flying Cloud Drive in Eden Prairie. For more information, visit www.treetrust.org [1].
