City Council Member Sherry Butcher has announced her intention to run for re-election to the Eden Prairie City Council. Butcher has been on the council since 1996. She is the director of Continuing Education and Customized Training at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, and has lived in Eden Prairie for 26 years. According to a news release,  “her decision to seek a fourth term is based upon her conviction in ‘smart government that makes the best decisions for our community as a whole now and into the future.’”

In the news release, Butcher stated, “residents and businesses have been investing in Eden Prairie for a very long time. These past investments are the reason we have an attractive and sought after community in which to live and work.”

In 2007, she was selected by the University of Minnesota, College of Liberal Arts, as an Alumni of Notable Achievement and has served as a trustee on the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust.
