The Hennepin County Board has scheduled a public hearing for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, on the 2008 Hennepin County Consortium Consolidated Action Plan.
 

Public comment is being sought on the draft plan for 30 days, beginning today. The public hearing is in the Hennepin County Board Room on the 24th floor of the Government Center at 300 S. Sixth St. in downtown Minneapolis.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requires the county to submit the plan in order to qualify for annual entitlement funding for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program and the Emergency Shelter Grant Program (ESG). The county is required to hold a public hearing to hear comments on the plan, which must be submitted to HUD by May 21 for approval by July 1, according to a news release from the county.

The Consolidated Action Plan identifies needs, priorities and proposed funding uses for the CDBG, HOME and ESG programs in suburban Hennepin County.
