Former Minnesotans Diablo Cody and Coen Bros. won big. I consider all the hoopla related to "No Country for Old Men" payback for snubbing a Coen Bros. classic: "The Big Lebowski"
But, "No Country for Old Men" is awesome. Violent and unpleasant, but awesome.
High points from the Oscars:
"Falling Slowly" performance by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova
I'm so glad they won for best song. I've seen "Once" and every time I hear that song, I start bawling --it's that good.
You should go rent "Once" or better yet, check out The Frames [2]
Other high points? Was Jon Stewart too snarky or right on? Too many montages? Too few montages? Do we need a montage celebration of montages?
