Yes, there is a National Boss Day. According to Hallmark the day “offers employees an opportunity to recognize those in supervisory positions.”
Apparently the holiday started in 1958 with an employee at State Farm Insurance Company who hoped to improve relationships between employees and supervisors. It falls every year on Oct. 16.
Hallmark’s got the whole story on its Web site, http://hotnews.hallmark.com/boss_day.html [1]
So, we hear about nightmare bosses all the time. What about those managers who really shine?
