On dean’s list

Mara Tuy, of Eden Prairie, has qualified for the spring semester dean’s list at Mankato State University-Mankato by achieving a 3.5-3.99 grade point average.

 

On UW-Madison dean’s list

William Bodner, son of Ken and Jenny Bodner of Eden Prairie, has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the spring semester of the 2006-2007 school year.

A 2006 graduate of Eden Prairie High School, William was also recently admitted to the School of Business at UW-Madison.

           

2 students initiated

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Chapter of the National Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Societies for first-year students is proud to announce 256 students accepted membership and were initiated on April 28, during Honors Week at UW-Eau Claire.

Students initiated on April 28 include Sarah Himple and Michelle Roemmich, of Eden Prairie.

 

Makes dean’s list

Alexandra Starr, daughter of Michelle Starr of Eden Prairie, was named to the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, spring semester 2007 dean’s list.

Alexandra, a 2004 graduate of Eden Prairie High School, is majoring in accounting.

 

On dean’s list

Jason D. Traynor, of Eden Prairie, a student in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester of the 2006-07 academic year.

Students on the dean’s list have attained a grade point average of at least 3.70/4.00.

Jason is a 2004 graduate of Eden Prairie High School and is the son of Jeff and Marsha Traynor.

 

Bemidji dean’s list

The following students from Eden Prairie were named to the spring semester dean’s list at Bemidji State University: Eugene Lewis, David Bonk, Matthew Kistner and Jason Porteous.

Students carrying 12 or more semester hours during any one term and earning at least a 3.25 (B-plus) grade point average are listed on the dean’s list.

 

Awarded scholarship

Adam J. Link, son of Brian and Holly Link of Eden Prairie, is a 2007 graduate of Eden Prairie High School and has been awarded the President’s Distinguished Student Scholarship.

Adam will be a freshman in the fall at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in the Carlson School of Management.

 

On Wake Forest dean’s list

 Lexi Habicht, daughter of Bill and Jayne Habicht of Eden Prairie, has been named to the Wake Forest dean’s list.

Lexi completed her freshman year at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C.

 

On dean’s list

Michael Bann, son of Stan and Cherie Bann of Eden Prairie, has been named to the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology dean’s list for spring semester 2007. The dean’s list honors IT undergraduates who achieve a grade point average of 3.67 or higher.

Bann will be a senior this coming fall, pursuing a double major in math and computer science. He is a 2004 graduate of Eden Prairie High School.

 

Begins medical school

Maralyssa Bann, daughter of Stan and Cherie Bann of Eden Prairie, will begin medical school at Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore this coming fall, specializing in neuroscience/neurology.

Johns Hopkins is one of the top medical schools in the U.S. Bann has spent the past year working in medical research at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., researching Alzheimer’s Disease. During that time she has been a contributing researcher on three medical papers, soon to be published.

She is a 2002 graduate of Eden Prairie High School.

 

Receives faculty award

Cheryl Bann, of Eden Prairie, has been awarded the Harold Abel Distinguished Faculty Award from Capella University, Minneapolis.

Bann received this award for her outstanding teaching, course development and mentoring in the MBA program in the School of Business and Technology.

 

Graduate from UW-Madison

More than 5,300 students received degrees during the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s spring commencement ceremonies in May 2007.

Students from Eden Prairie include: Kristen Asby, Amanda Bandur, Karyn Bowman, Megan Cook, John Copouls, Tom Driver, Sara Gensmer, Aaron Granat, Robert Gustafson, Sarah Haerle, Jennifer Hansen, Jackelyn Hartwig, Harshad Khadilkar, Nicole Knothe, Michael Kreemer, Megan Kurzeka, Kaylee Moorhead, Ashley Peterson, Ashley Puegner and Joanna Yi.

 

Five on dean’s list 

The following students from Eden Prairie were named to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls spring semester dean’s list: Krista Erickson, Kelly Harri, Kelly Jensen, Shari Roth and Jason Usher.

To be named to the dean’s list, a full-time undergraduate student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a scale of 4.0.

 

On dean’s list

Katelyn Ann Benson, daughter of Vicki and Buzz Benson of Eden Prairie, was named to the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management’s spring semester 2007 dean’s list.

Benson, a 2004 graduate of Eden Prairie High School, is a junior double majoring in marketing and entrepreneur management.
