Eagles score once, win Minnesota Cup

Explain this: The Eden Prairie High School boys soccer team opened its 2008 campaign by scoring one goal in the Minnesota Cup Tournament and winning it.

More amazing, perhaps, is the fact that they opened the season with a whole new defense (defenders plus keeper), but have yet to allow a goal. And oh yeah, they've played Stillwater and St. Paul Central; easily, two of the better programs in the state.

Fantasy football: A league of its own

Oh sure, there’s still old school fantasy football players, the guys that meet in so-and-so’s basement, show up for their draft with a fantasy football magazine under one arm and a six pack of beer under the other. Their draft strategy is pretty simple: the 10th best running back is always a better pick than the top rated quarterback.

Spiritually speaking: Embracing mental illness in our spiritual communities

By Lauren Carlson-Vohs
Statistics show that one out of five people are affected by mental illness at some point in their life and that number is growing. Yet despite the prevalence of mental illness, there still remains a great deal of misinformation and fear about it. This contributes to the stigma surrounding mental illness, whereby so many suffer silently, ashamed to seek accurate diagnosis and treatment. And disappointingly, for those who do seek treatment, they often are dismayed by the very limited options available to them.
