The Eden Prairie Council for Gifted and Talented (EPCGT) will be holding a meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, March 12, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
According to a news release: “The Eden Prairie Council for Gifted and Talented (EPCGT) is an all volunteer parent group offering support for parents of high ability children. The next EPCGT meeting will be entirely devoted to offering support to parents who may have questions related to their gifted child. If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions, meeting with other parents may provide value to you in parenting your child:
* Does your child have unusual emotional depth or exhibit intense feelings and reactions?
* Is your child highly sensitive?
* Is your child idealistic and have they exhibited a sense of justice since an early age?
* Is your child impatient with their self or others’ inabilities or slowness?
* Does your child have an advanced comprehension of abstract ideas?
Bring your questions regarding advocating for your child, providing the right amount of academic challenge, developing social and emotional connections, perfectionism, underachievement and more for discussion.”
