Religion news: End times series set, Astronaut featured at Salute to Veterans event, Temple classes

End times John Feinberg will become the interim preaching pastor at Grace Church in Eden Prairie on Sunday, May 11, and will begin an end times message series titled, “What’s This World Coming To?” The prophecy series will continue through Sunday, Aug. 24, and will include teaching on Israel, the church, the tribulation, the kingdom, and the eternal state. Feinberg is a professor and chair of the Department of Biblical and Systematic Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Ill. He earned a Ph.D. and M.A. in philosophy from the University of Chicago; and the master of theology from Trinity. Worship services at Grace Church are at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Grace is in Eden Prairie at the southeast corner of Pioneer Trail and Eden Prairie Road, one mile west of Flying Cloud Airport. Astronaut to Grace Church in Eden Prairie will host its ninth annual “We Salute Our Veterans” program to honor veterans beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17. The program will feature former NASA astronaut Jack Lousma (Colonel, USMC, retired). Colonel Lousma was in the Marine Corps for 25 years. While working for NASA, he was a pilot and performed two spacewalks aboard Skylab (America’s first space station). He was also the commander of an orbital test flight of the space shuttle Columbia. He has received four honorary doctorate degrees. Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., will be present to extend a special greeting to all veterans in attendance. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Gov. Tim Pawlenty will also extend greetings via videotape. Additionally, the program will include veteran testimonies and recognition, inspirational and patriotic music. The “We Salute Our Veterans” program is a free event. An optional lunch is provided after the program for $8 with advance reservations by calling 952-224-3032 before May 8.
