Protesters arrested at ATK site

Five individuals were arrested and cited for trespassing during the shareholders meeting at Alliant Techsystems headquarters last Tuesday morning. The group attempted to enter the building and was told by ATK security to leave. When they refused, Eden Prairie police requested they leave, but the five refused and were arrested, said Lt. Greg Weber, of the Eden Prairie Police.  The five people were cited for the trespassing and released on the site.

Weber estimated there were about 15 to 20 people protesting nearby on the sidewalk area. This was the first time ATK has held a shareholders meeting in Eden Prairie, its new headquarters. ATK is a company that develops weapon and space systems. Every Wednesday morning, a group known as AlliantAction has a vigil near the ATK headquarters. According to the group’s Web site, “Although we are opposed to specific weapon systems produced by Alliant, our main concern is the violent solutions this Minnesota based company represents to world conflict.” Weber noted that AlliantAction had indicated to police that they would be there on Tuesday.

The following incidents were reported by the Eden Prairie Police Department:
