Funding for transportation infrastructure projects has passed the U.S. House of Representatives, according to a news release from U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen.
"Appropriations for the Interstate 94 - Brockton Lange Interchange, the Highway 169-Interstate 494 Interchange and Highway 610 were included as part of the Fiscal Year 2010 Omnibus Appropriations Bill approved yesterday," the release said.
"The 3rd District has great needs in terms of transportation infrastructure," Paulsen said in the release. "I've worked hard to secure this funding so we can reduce traffic congestion, improve safety and expand economic opportunities.”
The funding included $400,000 toward the Highway 169/I-494 interchange project. The project, estimated to cost more than $150 million, "would provide all of the U.S. Hwy 169 to I-494 (system-to-system) moves, as well as providing local access to the principal arterials of US Hwy 169 and I-494," the release said.
The funding included $800,000 for the I-94/Brockton Lane interchange project, which includes includes preliminary design, environmental reviews, right-of-way acquisition and final design to construct an interchange at the location of Interstate 94 and Brockton Lane.
Funding also included $400,000 toward Highway 610 construction in Maple Grove.
The bill now awaits action in the Senate.
