Pamela McElwain-Brown of Eden Prairie, a JFK Presidential Limousine historian, reports that an exact replica of the JFK Limousine, SS-100-X, is being brought for exhibition to the Minnesota State Fair.
“I’m still kind of the only one to focus solely on that,” she said of her focus on the presidential limo.
The “JFK Remembered” exhibit can be found on Underwood, north of the Visitors Plaza, according to information from the State Fair. “JFK Remembered features over 300 artifacts related to the late 35th president of the United States. The museum-like exhibit offers information and insight into both the public and private aspects of the president’s life through video, photographs, music, hands-on activities and items personally owned by John F. Kennedy. The exhibit also includes an exact replica of the blue 1961 Lincoln limousine that was built specifically for JFK and used throughout his presidency. The experience focuses on Kennedy’s many achievements and gives guests a new look at the famous president’s life.”
McElwain-Brown said the replica vehicle was used in the movie “JFK.”
“It is a time of commemoration,” she said of this year, the 45th anniversary of Kennedy’s assassination.
McElwain-Brown was also interviewed at the Henry Ford Museum for an upcoming Discovery Channel program set to air on Nov. 4.
