In U.S. Congressional District 3, which includes Eden Prairie, Rep. Jim Ramstad, a Republican, defeated DFL challenger Wendy Wilde. Ramstad received 169,099 votes or 65 percent of the vote and Wilde received 89,036 votes or about 34 percent of the vote (results include 99 percent of Hennepin County precincts).

In the District 42 Senate race, with 100 percent of precincts reporting, incumbent Sen. David Hann, R-42, who received 18,547 votes or 52 percent, defeated Eden Prairie School Board member Carol Bomben, who received 17,249 votes or 48 percent.

In the District 42A House race, incumbent Rep. Maria Ruud, DFL-42A, received 9,963 votes or 55 percent to defeat Republican Bill Cullen, who received 8,131 votes or 45 percent of the vote.

In District 42B incumbent Rep. Erik Paulsen, the Republican Majority Leader, received 11,389 votes or 64 percent of the vote. His challenger, Rob Boyd, a DFLer, received 6,380 votes or 35.87 percent.

Hennepin County:

Mike Freeman defeated Andy Luger to become Hennepin County Attorney. Freeman received 221,483 votes or 59 percent of the vote. Luger received 151,508 or 40 percent of the vote.

Rich Stanek defeated Juan Lopez to become Hennepin County Sheriff. Stanek received 252,400 votes or 65 percent and Lopez received 135, 314 votes or 35 percent.
