Click below this story for a link to a presentation about the school funding proposals.

By Karla Wennerstrom
Changes in how the Eden Prairie School District can levy funds could result in a smaller projected deficit, the School Board learned recently.
The district was anticipating a deficit of about $10.3 million for the 2010-2011 school year.
At its meeting Aug. 26, the Eden Prairie School District heard about two changes that might mean that shortfall is reduced to $7.3 million in 2010-2011.

Spiritually speaking: A few lessons learned about life from “Wall-E”

By Tim Power
Yes, the leading man was a “Waste Allocation Load Lifter, Earth Class.” He is a robot better known as “Wall-E” and he stars in Pixar’s new animated movie. I went to see it on a hot summer evening as much to be in an air conditioned space as to follow the recommendation of a friend to be sure to see the movie. I was ready for two hours of light entertainment. What I got was a challenging parable about humanity’s ability to destroy itself – and the resources we humans posses to save ourselves, as well.

Helping people find the right path

By Unsie Zuege
Maybe you can relate.
The scenario: Your bedroom. It’s the beginning of a new day. The alarm goes off. You hit the snooze alarm because you are reluctant to face the day. You don’t have a bad attitude. You just don’t feel excited about starting the day because it’s going to be an awful lot like the day before, and the day before that.
You wonder about those people who can’t wait to leap out of bed in the morning, ready for their day to begin. Who are they? What do they know that you don’t?
