Spiritually Speaking: Are you being called to listen?

By Lauren Carlson-Vohs
I hadn’t given much attention to what I would write about in this week’s column, until one morning the words of this week’s title woke me around 5:00 a.m. and thoughts swirled about before I was able to fall back to sleep. I definitely was being called to listen and had the clear sense this week’s column would emerge from those thoughts.

Spiritually Speaking: Five people and the spiritual importance of relationships

By Bernard E. Johnson
I’ve been thinking about Mitch Albom’s book, “The Five People You Meet in Heaven.” It is worth a read. It has caused me to think about people who have touched my life in ways that help define me at both a human and spiritual level. There have been people along the way who comprise a kind of Who’s Who of My Heart. Albom’s book has caused me to think about the spiritual importance of relationships. I’m thinking each one of us might benefit from reflecting on our lives in this manner.

Aug. 14 letters: Thank you, coffee house, election

Other topics
Thank you
to community
Thank you to the community of Eden Prairie and the Eden Prairie Police Department! Tuesday, Aug. 5, was National Night Out and PROP Food Shelf was the recipient of great generosity! PROP received almost 8,000 pounds of food.
The timing couldn’t have been better as the shelves were becoming empty and the need for food increasing. This effort clearly shows me that Eden Prairie is a community of support from neighbor to neighbor. Thank you all for making a difference in the lives of those who struggle to feed their families.
Anne E. Harnack
