“The recent rains have washed enough organic materials into Round Lake to cause a water quality problem,” according to Eden Prairie City Manager Scott Neal’s Friday report to the City Council dated Aug. 24.
“The lake’s e-coli rating is too high to allow the beach to be open. The beach is closed effective immediately.”
City staff will continue to test the water and re-open the beach if possible.
The beach had been scheduled to close for the season on Sept. 4, according to the city’s Web site, www.edenprairie.org.
