Hennepin County will be offering H1N1 flu vaccine to a broadened range of at-risk recipients at three public clinics in December, according to a news release.

Clinics are set:

From 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Eden Prairie High School, 17185 Valley View Road, Eden Prairie.

From 3:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Park Center High School, 7300 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park.

From 3:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Wayzata High School, 4955 Peony Lane N., Plymouth.

The three clinics will offer H1N1 flu vaccine to:

* Anyone between the ages of 6 months through 24 years.
* Adults aged 25 to 64 with chronic health conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, lung conditions, cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy).
* All pregnant women.
* Health care providers and emergency medical services personnel.
* Anyone who lives with or provides care to infants under the age of 6 months.

The vaccine will be offered in both the nasal spray and injected shot forms. Children in the 6 months through 9 years age group will need a second dose of the vaccine about four weeks after their initial vaccination. Vaccine will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. A parent or guardian must accompany any child and sign a consent form in person at the dispensing site.

The vaccinations are free, but families with insurance should bring their insurance card so their insurance plan can be billed. Vaccinations are highly recommended, but they are not mandatory. For more information on Hennepin’s H1N1 clinics, go to www.hennepin.us/h1n1.
