225 Water Street Creative Arts is holding our second Recycled Art Contest in Jordan, Minnesota.

Our last contest was won by 14 year old, Storm Moll of Belle Plaine, Minnesota with her winning entry "Don't throw Peace Away."

We're in search of our next best “Trashformation” artist! The Recycled Art Contest is open to recycled artists ages 10 and older.

Entries will be displayed at 225 Water Street starting September 1st and the winning entries will be announced September 6th and cash prizes will be awarded for the top three finalists.

Absentee voting open for Primary Election

Absentee voting for the Primary Election is open from Aug. 8 to Sept. 8 at Eden Prairie City Center, 8080 Mitchell Road.
You can vote from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 6, the Saturday prior to election day.
Polls are open for the state primary from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9.

Peter Ostroushko to perform in Sounds for Summer Concert

One of the area’s most accomplished vocalists, instrumentalists and composers, Peter Ostroushko, will appear at the Old Log Theater in Excelsior as part of its Sounds for Summer music series. The concert will be held Monday, August 4, at 8 p.m.

Peter is an internationally renowned musician whose music and compositions reflect his Ukrainian heritage and his close ties to the heartland of America.

Lauren's Run for a Reason

Lauren’s Run for a Reason will be held Sunday, Aug. 10, at Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove. Registration for the 5K and family fitness 2K will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the race starting at 10 a.m.

The following is a news release: As is often the case, tragedy inspires. The sudden unexpected death of 16 month old Lauren Trymucha during her nap on December 22, 2007, motivated her family and friends to create the 1st Annual Lauren’s Run for a Reason to raise awareness and funds for the little understood and rare tragedy of Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC).

Twilight Special concert at Riley-Jacques Barn

Filing for City Council seats

Filing will be open for the two City Council seats that are up for election from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday at Eden Prairie City Center, 8080 Mitchell Road.
Filing is open from Aug. 26 to Sept. 9 at 5 p.m. The last day to withdraw is Sept. 11.
