Memorial Day event in Excelsior

The American Legion Clarence Clofer Post 259 Excelsior-Shorewood will continue its tradition of holding Memorial Day services to remember our fallen comrades and to honor all veterans at local cemeteries, and will present a Memorial program at Excelsior Elementary School, followed by a parade to Oak Hill Cemetery in Excelsior for a graveside service.  Everyone is welcome to attend these services and participate in the activities.

Why does Flying Cloud Airport get a pass on all the negatives?

I am dismayed by the apathy of our city leaders. From my perspective as a proponent of a strong local business climate, a strong residential, commercial, and retail tax base as well pride in the aesthetics of our community I have yet to hear the positives that this airport brings to our community.

Tomato, watermelon, carrot, pear, and even rhubarb wine are possible.  Local homemade wine maker, Clarence Johnson, shares his knowledge, tips and tricks behind the mystery of homemade wine making.


Small dog play group
Start: 7:00 pm

Do you want to socialize your small breed dog (15 pounds or less) with other dogs? This group meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Nesbitt Preserve Hockey Rink, 8641 Center Way. MADD kicks off 5K walk

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) will be hosting its second annual 5K walk, Walk Like MADD, to be held in Bloomington on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at the Hyland Lake Park Reserve. Walk Like MADD is a 5K, non-competitive walk that enables corporations and individuals to team up with MADD in keeping our children and communities safe.

Meals on Wheels benefit luncheon
