55-plus Driver Improvement Program
Start: 9:00 am
End: 1:00 pm

The Minnesota Highway Safety Center offer a course from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 8 at Summit Place Senior Campus, 8501 Flying Cloud Drive, Eden Prairie. The Driver Improvement course is open to the public; however, pre-registration is requested. Cost is $18. For information, call 1-888-234-1294.


Newcomers Club
Start: 11:30 am
End: 1:30 pm

The Newcomers Club of the Southwest Suburbs will hold its monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Salut Bar Americain, 5032 France Ave. S., Edina. Following lunch the group will “be searching for some great after-Christmas bargains in the charming shops at 50th and France.” Carpools will leave from the ground-floor level of Von Maur’s parking garage at 11 a.m. RSVP to Elise at 952-975-3629. New members are always welcome.

City Council meeting

The Eden Prairie City Council will hold a meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8. The meeting will be held at the Council Chambers at the Eden Prairie City Center, 8080 Mitchell Road. A Council Workshop will be held in the Heritage Rooms starting at 5 p.m.
