The ever-lengthening campaign season also leaves more time for focus on the negative.

Actually, Ryan, there is a reason political campaigns go negative, and that is because "negative" works.

Sad, but true.

Personally, I'd much rather be discussing issues and the ramifications of policy, but: that doesn't win elections.

When voters begin punishing those that go negative, those that would go negative, would stop.

Unil then, I'll be reminding voters that it was Newt Gingrich, and the GOP - GreedOverPrinciples - party, that made "liberal" a perjorative.

And it's the GOP - GreedOverPrinciples party - that believes "war is peace" and "up is down" and "Clear Skies Intiative" is "less pollution".

And it's the GreedOverPrinciples party that believes: "Mission Accomplished".

Not to mention, "You done did a heck of a job, Brownie."

And frankly, it's the Fourth Estate that's failed us all.

Speaking of Santa, any suggestions for opportunities to see St. Nick? I know there will be a turn-of-the-century Santa at the Cummins House Christmas Sunday.
