Things seem to be going

Things seem to be going smoothly. I checked in with Precinct 11 at around 5:30 and there was a steady stream of voters, but no long lines.
The election judge there noted that there had been a large turnout this year. This precinct had a large amount registering to vote today.

So, now, we wait...

Here's another good story

Here's another good story from Precinct 10. I got the following e-mail from Dan Kitrell, who voted there this morning:

"I took my 3 ½ year old daughter, Amanda, to vote this morning in precinct 10 (United Methodist Church). She was excited to see all of the people exiting the polls with red stickers that read, 'I Voted.' She was even more excited to see a table with cookies as we entered the building. Stickers. Cookies. What could be more fun than voting?

BTW, I asked her who she would vote for. She said, 'John McCain.' When I asked her why, she replied, 'He’s the cutest.'

The volunteers did a great job and I was in line at 7:45 a.m. and done by 8:10 a.m."

My son and I voted shortly

My son and I voted shortly before 9 a.m. at Hennepin Technical College. There were two people ahead of us at the front desk, but after that we marched from station to station without a wait. Easy. Quick.

How goes the voting?

There is expected to be record voter turn-out today. If you've already voted, how did it go? Did you face any long lines? Did the process go smoothly? Share your stories here, or e-mail your stories to lshaffer@swpub.com

Or call 952-942-3387

I voted this morning at around 9 a.m. It looked at first like there was going to be a long line, but, the long line was for voters who had not registered yet. It took me about 15 to 20 minutes to get in and vote-- I thought it went pretty smoothly.
