Rotary hears about resident’s good works
March 11, 2008 - 4:37pm — Rotary Rooter
A non-profit organization’s good works were on display today at the weekly meeting of the Eden Prairie (A.M.) Rotary Club. The goal of the program, which is provided to the Home School under a contract with Hennepin County, is to provide adjudicated, at-risk residents with technology and computer training, as well as mentoring and life skills. After establishing its program at the Home School next to Glen Lake Golf Course, Osiris went on to open additional computer centers at more than a dozen Minneapolis parks. Home School computer graduates often work as instructors at these centers. For his work, EP resident Bill Roddy has been presented a Humanitarian of the Year award from the University of St. Thomas. He is a 1979 business graduate of the school. You can find out more about Bill Roddy’s work at www.osirisorganization.org. (Rotary Rooter focuses on the activities of the Eden Prairie A.M. Rotary Club, which meets at 7:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the Biaggi's restaurant at Eden Prairie Shopping Center. Guests are welcome. You can learn more about the club by visiting www.epamrotary.)
