My last class of the year was what I consider a large class. It had 5 people.

I met a wonderful group of ladies who were eager to learn about ghost hunting and try their hand at it. They brought with them their own discoveries that they made with dousing rods and I welcomed the new information I have learned from them.

Being open minded is important when it comes to ghost hunting. I have found that too many ghost hunters are closed-minded and will not be open to new ideas. This is not how we learn. I will be putting their discovery into practice on my investigations in the future.

The group had learned about the different equipment that ghost hunters use and how to use them. They learned how to keep a ghost-hunting journal, how to capture evps and where and why you set your equipment. They also learned what to look for in their photos, and hear on their recordings and had hands on experience cleaning up photos and evps using programs that are available.

When we went on the ghost-hunting outing they put what they learned to use, they also learned how to approach a haunted location and how to investigate it.

The field trip was an interesting location since this was a new location for me also. This was a large Victorian house in Minneapolis. Here we got a number of very good evps but the most exciting thing that had happened for me was up on the 3rd floor. On this floor there was 3 small rooms off a larger common room. As the ladies were setting up their equipment, I sat in the common room out of their way. As I sat there, I felt a slight feeling of being watched. I didn’t pay much attention to the feeling, as I was more concerned with the students. I got up and stood in the doorway of that room looking into the room where the students were to see how they were doing. As I stood there I saw a shadow of a small man walk in front of the window. I could kick myself for not having my video camera with me.

The ladies concluded the investigation by demonstrating their discovery with the dousing rods. Which was successful. These ladies have a great out look when it comes to spirits. They believe in spirit rescue. They had independently discovered the existence of “walking spirits” and believe that these spirits should have the opportunity to go into the light if they so desire. I informed the students where a spirit could find this light, as we do not have the ability to open this window for them.

I have to say that these ladies would be a great addition to any group they wish to join or if they want to start their own group, with a little more practice they should be fine. It is my hope that I can take them to at least 2 more locations to hone in on their skills and learn a little more on ghost hunting. I am also hoping that they would consider joining my group with some of cases as time permits them.

Most ghost hunting teams consists of part time ghost hunters. Though all of us are eager to go on a case, life and our duties takes president over ghost hunting, and a group should have a number of part time members so when a case dose come up there will be enough people available to cover them.
