On our turf

The Eden Prairie School District is considering replacing three fields (including the turf in the dome) with synthetic grass. To pay for this, the school board recently approved a preliminary lease levy.

The district Web site has an article on the reasons behind this decision at https://www2.edenpr.org/wps/portal/

Judging from the list of reasons, (including student safety), it sounds like a well thought out plan. Anyone else have thoughts on turf vs. synthetic grass?

I'd like someone to explain a "lease levy".

I'd also like to know why they can approve a preliminary lease levy for synthetic grass for the fields, but they can't in order to reduce class size.

Can anyone answer me?
