The Minnesota House today OK’d a college tuition tax break based on income. The benefit is said to average $165 per student – about the cost of a college textbook or two, I figure. I am inclined to look at that amount and say “Why bother?” but how about you? Would we be better off putting efforts behind legislation introduced by state Rep. Mark Buesgens (R-Jordan) that would guarantee a stable tuition cost for the four years allotted to earn a college degree?
