Back to page topI think it all depends on your cell phone. If you've got some of the newer models which include something that resembles a keyboard, texting is a lot less mind numbing.
That being said, I usually only text Google in order to get some information while I'm on the road. For instance, you can text Google and ask it for the phone number of the nearest hotel is in say, Iowa City. Texting Google-- very handy. Texting friends, sort of tedious.

Back to page topI'm not much of a texter, but I sent a text message to my niece when she was on vacation and she sent me a text with a photo of where they were and it made me very happy. I think I could learn to like the texting.

Back to page topI'm all for picking up the phone and calling someone, if I can, because it's more personal (kind of the same as writing a letter or sending a card instead of putting out a mass e-mail).
Plus, I hate the thought of purposely misspelling words to create the text language.
However, it serves its purpose if I can answer a question for my husband or daughter when I'm in a meeting and can't answer my phone.
