The Planning Commission is set to recommend Prospect Road, as opposed to any of the five alternatives discussed, to the City Council Tuesday. What's your opinion on Prospect Road? Which alternative do you favor?
1. Extending Turnbull Road to connect to Beverly Drive, as a way to connect Dell Road to Eden Prairie Road
2. Connecting Turnbull Road to a new street that would be built south of and parallel to Beverly Drive.
3. Realigning Eden Prairie Road to swing east to a new intersection at Spring Road that would be 400 feet north of Flying Cloud Drive
4. Realigning Eden Prairie Road to swing east to a new intersection at Spring Road that would be 100 feet north of Flying Cloud Drive
5. Realigning Eden Prairie Road to swing west to a new intersection at Flying Cloud Drive, 230 feet west of the current intersection.
and 6. is complete Prospect Road
But, let's add an unofficial alternative to the list. Another suggestion has come up to leave Eden Prairie Road open. The city has planned to cut-off EP Road from Flying Cloud Drive.
If EP Road were kept open, that would provide a second entry point for the Hennepin Site B development. A service road on MAC property could potentially be used to provide secondary access to Site A.
There are lots of complications that go along with this alternative, but it's likely to be mentioned at the upcoming City Council meeting.
