Former Minnesotans Diablo Cody and Coen Bros. won big. I consider all the hoopla related to "No Country for Old Men" payback for snubbing a Coen Bros. classic: "The Big Lebowski"

But, "No Country for Old Men" is awesome. Violent and unpleasant, but awesome.

High points from the Oscars:

"Falling Slowly" performance by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova

I'm so glad they won for best song. I've seen "Once" and every time I hear that song, I start bawling --it's that good.

You should go rent "Once" or better yet, check out The Frames

Other high points? Was Jon Stewart too snarky or right on? Too many montages? Too few montages? Do we need a montage celebration of montages?

I thought Jon Stewart was great. I always enjoy the Oscars, even though they get ripped every year.

It is what it is - a ego stroke for Hollywood. So if you go in accepting that, then the Oscars are enjoyable.
