Eden Prairie City Council members have proposed a number of amendments to the 2008 budget including cuts to part of the Heritage Preservation specialist position and the addition of a part-time assistant fire chief position. A proposed amendment would also eliminate the community services technician position, also known as the immigrant liaison.

Other proposed amendments ask for the addition of the full $1 million CIP levy, while two other amendments propose the levy be entirely suspended or reduced to $500,000.

The council is set to vote on the budget at its next meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Eden Prairie City Center, 8080 Mitchell Road.
