Hey, community members, you have until Feb. 20, 2007 to nominate an Eden Prairie High School senior for an "Above & Beyond" Award from the Eden Prairie Schools and Eden Prairie A.M. Rotary Club.
Two members of the Eden Prairie (A.M.) Rotary Club were recently in the news.
One, Bob Lambert, announced that he is retiring as the city of Eden Prairie’s parks and recreation director after holding that position nearly 30 years.
One of the powers of Rotary is its strength as an organization, from clubs at the community level to its international leadership.
Rotary clubs in this area are known for their strong district organization. The Eden Prairie (A.M.) Rotary Club is part of Rotary International District 5950. This district not only includes the greater Minneapolis area, but communities in west central and south central Minnesota – 60 clubs and more than 3,100 Rotarians overall.
Both the Eden Prairie (A.M.) Rotary Club and its sister club, which meets at noon on Thursdays, are sponsors of a STRIVE program at Eden Prairie High School.
STRIVE is a program where Rotarians work with a high school for the purpose of motivating students to improve their school performance during their senior year.
If you are planning to buy a poinsettia plant for the upcoming holidays, why not buy from the Eden Prairie A.M. Rotary Club?
The club is in the midst of its annual Poinsettia Sale. Red, white, or pink poinsettias can be purchased, and there are three sizes: small (four-plus blooms); medium (eight-plus blooms); and large (12-plus blooms).
If you've ever wondered what Rotary clubs are and what they do, you may be interested in attending a brunch being held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at Biaggi's restaurant by the Eden Prairie A.M. Rotary Club.
