Fact Checking #2: Oceanographer interview distorted; “Swindle” director mislead; MIT Proffessor recipient Exxon Mobile pay back

In the 2007 “Beware of Global Warming Extremists” commentary, author Peter B. cherry picked sources to refute Global Warming by referring to "The Great Global Warming Swindle" which purportedly includes naysayers the likes of MIT scientist Richard Lintzen , NASA, The International Artic Research Center and other organizations and institutions.

Ironically Peter just passed on more disinformation that appeals to those who want to refute climate change/global warming.

The ones they left behind

It was a cold rainy day when I pull up in front of the old jail annex building in Mudbaden, just outside of Jordan. I haven’t been feeling well in the past few weeks and the gloomy weather hadn’t picked up my spirits very much.

As I sat in my car over looking the building I was reminded of the e mails I received about this building. I even was stopped at the store and was told about this building and the activities that went on. As I observed the building the strongest impression was that of an old person.

Fact Checking: Campaign of Denial Funded by Oil Industry

Fact Checking: “Beware of Global Warming Extremists”
1. “Shoot the messenger, accuse them of being “funded by the oil industry.”

This summer at the GOP Convention in St Paul the issue of climate change will be on the table. McCain supports cap and trade, but some in the Republican Party dispute climate change.

There is ample evidence indicating the oil industry is complicit in commandeering a misinformation campaign to dispute global warming.

New transit fare

The Metropolitan Council will be voting on whether to raise the transit fares 25 cents for most routes.

The fare increase is due to the rising cost of gas and fewer funds from the Motor Vehicle Sales Tax.
