Eden Prairie resident Ann Alexander Anklam has been elected to the Drake University National Alumni Association Board of Directors. Anklam graduated from Drake in 1972 with a degree in education, according to a news release.
“The board of directors is dedicated to facilitating alumni understanding of the plans and goals of the university, providing a vehicle for suggestions and consulting alumni on matters of significance. They also promote meaningful relationships between alumni and Drake,” the release said.
After more than six months of training, professional development and workshops, Eden Prairie resident John P. Peterson graduated from the Rasmussen Leadership Institute (RLI) program on Sept. 24. Launched earlier this year by Rasmussen College Inc., the RLI experience was offered to 24 individuals who were selected out of more than 1,000 Rasmussen employees to participate.

When the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities contacted the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community regarding a possible partnership to create the Minnesota Tribal Nations Plaza at the entrance of the new TCF Bank Stadium, the idea of what the finished product would look like was up in the air.
The University of North Dakota is having "UND Day at the Dome" on Aug. 29, 2009, at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.
According to a news release:
The event is open to UND alumni, students, future students, families, supporters and friends.
The event features reduced price tickets, a free pre-game ballpark lunch, UND President Robert O. Kelley throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, the UND Varsity Bards singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh-inning stretch, UND Deans and faculty and the Twins playing the Texas Rangers.

Now that football is returning to campus at TCF Bank Stadium, it seems appropriate to reminisce about the new stadium's predecessor on campus, Memorial Stadium. The "Brickhouse," as fans affectionately called it, was built in 1924 and stood for nearly seven decades until its demolition in 1992.
As TCF Bank Stadium has taken shape over the past three years, the staff at University Libraries wondered how their archival resources and digital technology expertise could be used to capture and share the rich history of the Brickhouse.
